Cage nuts for control cabinets, racks and equipment construction
Cage nuts connect components to thin sheet-metal profiles where no thread can be cut. The square nut sits in a spring-steel cage. The cage is inserted from the outside into a square mounting hole and holds the nut in position while the screw is inserted from the accessible side.
Design and function
The cage positions the nut and compensates for small tolerances in the mounting hole. The nut itself absorbs the screw force. This makes it possible to attach covers, assemblies and accessories even where the back of the sheet is not accessible. Thread, hole size, sheet thickness, material and the required corrosion resistance are the key selection criteria.
